Frequently Asked Questions

  • Mountains Meet Lake

It is understandable to wonder how talking to someone new can help. Therapy provides a safe, dedicated space to ease the weight of anxiety and depression by helping you understand what is underneath your struggles.

Together, we will explore the areas where you feel heavy or stuck, working at your pace to build practical tools to navigate them.

Many clients notice meaningful shifts as they grow these skills, experiencing:

    • Greater mental clarity and focus

    • Renewed motivation and energy

    • More ease in their daily lives and relationships

You don't have to figure it out alone. We will work collaboratively to help you move forward and create the life you truly want to live.

  • Holding Hands

At its core, therapy is a warm conversation where you can talk about what matters most to you without any judgment or pressure.

Because my practice is completely virtual, our first session will start with a simple, secure video link via Jane App, no complicated software downloads required. We will take time to get to know each other, explore your story, and clarify what you'd like to work on. From there, we will collaborate on a personalized plan, helping you build practical tools to navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and ease.

  • Old-Fashioned Clock

How long we work together depends entirely on your unique goals and what you are walking through. Short-term counselling can be wonderful for immediate, focused concerns, while longer-term support allows space for a deeper exploration of yourself and your relationships.

Growth happens best when we protect a regular space for it. Whether we meet weekly or bi-weekly, a steady rhythm gives your mind and nervous system the structure needed to practice new concepts and reflect on them. Small, gentle shifts between our sessions often lead to the most noticeable improvements, like a steadier mood, lower anxiety, and more meaningful connections.

  • Man Looking Out to the Mountains

Confidentiality is something I take very seriously. As a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), I am legally and ethically bound to protect your privacy. Everything you share in therapy is kept confidential, and no information is released without a conversation and your consent.

There are a few situations where I am legally required to break confidentiality for safety reasons:

    1. If there is serious and imminent risk of harm to yourself or others.

    2. If there is risk of harm to a child.

    3. If our records have been subpoenaed by a court order.

I value transparency and trust. If I ever need to break confidentiality, we will discuss the situation together and ensure you understand why it is necessary for safety.
